Following the recent storm Dion, which raged across the US, bringing cold temperatures and leaving behind snow and ice, I’m feeling the need for a colorful reminder of spring. These columbines were interspersed among the yellow tulips in the Sunken Garden at the Filoli estate in Woodside. (Although no tulips are front and center in this photo, you can spy a bit of a yellow tulip in the lower left-hand corner of the photo.)
The groundskeepers always do a beautiful job with the gardens at Filoli. For the last six, seven, eight….I’ve lost track…years, I have gone on an annual spring sojourn to Filoli for hours of photographing the flowers and enjoying the ambiance.
