Airflow: the car that goes over the cliff and keeps going

I laughed at the commercial I saw for a 1934 Chrysler car, the Airflow. The commercial was hilarious. Unfortunately, the car was a commercial flop.

The Airflow was designed with, well, airflow in mind. Engineers at Chrysler attempted to design a car with less air resistance. They used wind tunnels and the help of Orville Wright in designing an efficient shape for the car.

Their design to make the car have less drag also ultimately strengthened the car and led to the commercial that made me laugh. How to show that your car is strong enough to survive anything? Drive it over a cliff and show that the car keeps going.

For the cliff dive, start watching at 4:40 minutes.
